Power Records Pow Wow Sessions - Yllis
In true Power Records tradition of having bands play in their stores, the exhibition period will house intimate acoustic sets by local musicians interpreting 80s music. Expect covers of 80s classics or current pop songs reworked with an 80s spin. The hour-long sets take inspiration from NPR’s Tiny Desk Music Concerts and will be filmed and shared on social. Seats are limited to 20 pax.
In this instalment of Pow Wow Sessions, we'll have Yllis.
Previously frontman for local band Monster Cat, Wang Wei Yang’s experimental electronic pop sound has been described as “luxuriously dark and psychedelic”. He refers to his fresh sound as left-field hip hop.
